Our Apple Arcade Updates are posted in full length in our Discord. Apple Arcade games update automatically, but please make sure you match these version numbers:

• macOS: 1.4.28322

APPLE ARCADE: CRASHES

• Overheating:
  But not as you know it!
  Handheld Apple devices tend to have internal heat regulation to avoid the components getting overheated. Your device does not have to feel “hot” to the touch in order to experience this. Here are some easy ways to keep your device nice and cool!

• • Let the device breathe
    Try taking off the protective leather, plastic, or silicone cover so the heat can escape better!
    Also make sure to not hold the device in a way that covers up its ventilation.

• • Taking breaks
    Look, we don’t wanna say it, you don’t wanna hear it.. But taking breaks, switching off the game while you stretch, get some water, or go up and down your building stairs a few times for what we call exercise in these weird times might just be healthy for you AND our game’s performance.

• • Turning your device fully off
    Not just into sleep mode. Fully shutting it down for a good 10 minutes. Let it rest.

• Memory / RAM:
  Some Apple devices, for example 6th Gen, have 2GB of memory, and Beyond A Steel Sky, being one of the most graphically ambitious games on Apple Arcade,, will use every last drop of that.  In these devices every little counts, so freeing up memory and letting your device rest is what it’s all about!

• • Rebooting your device
    Not just into sleep mode. A full on reboot until you see the white in the Apple logo.

• • Turning off apps running in the background
    Apple devices have a very smart feature called “App Refresh” that keeps apps running in the background to ensure a snappier loading when opening them again. Some background apps will even enable upon booting your device. It’s an excellent feature for responsiveness of those apps, but it does compete for memory loading capacity when you play a slightly more demanding game, such as Beyond A Steel Sky. Turning App Refresh off can be unique to your device, so we want to encourage you to look it up for yourself: Here is a generalised guide we found.

 

WINDOWS: CRASHES
Incredibly frustrating, and we’re so sorry if you’re experiencing this.
This could be due to a few things, so we’re going to lump them into categories:

• Restart your computer
  Look, we don’t make the rules of computing – we just observe them, and sometimes a reboot fixes everything!
     
• Check our System Requirements
  System requirements can vary, so make sure to check the recommended system requirements for the OS you are using.
  An activated Windows licence may be required.
• Verify your game files:
  • • • On Steam
      • On GOG
• A clean re-install followed by a reboot
  Sometimes the best way to fix a stubborn issue is to start fresh.
