Not content with just saving the world, George and Nico are now officially world record breakers!
We're very pleased to announce that Guinness World Records have awarded the heroes of Broken Sword an official record title - the Longest running graphic adventure videogame protagonist. (Pictured above is Stephen Daultrey, Editor of Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition, presenting the award).
Since starring in the 1996 debut Broken Sword videogame called The Shadow of the Templars, US lawyer and adventurer George Stobbart and French journalist Nicole 'Nico' Collard have appeared in all four sequels of our point-and-click series. With the release of the latest game in the series - The Serpent's Curse - the duo have been adventuring together over 18 years and 343 days.
Charles states: "They are friends who have grown up with us through thick and thin: they are embedded in the Revolution history. And we are celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Revolution this year, so the award could not be better timed!”
