    ABOUT THE GAME

While investigating a ruthless drug gang, journalist Nico Collard unexpectedly comes across an ancient artifact. Little can she know that the ornately carved obsidian stone will lead her, and her adventuring companion George Stobbart, into a mysterious escapade of intrigue and deceit, in which they must overcome powerful forces and antagonists who will stop at nothing to fulfil their evil ambitions.

Torment and terror, sacrificial rituals, and bloody massacre is unearthed beneath a veil of Mayan mystery. Kidnap, stolen treasure, astronomy, and deadly drug baron are the least of the duo’s worries, as divine forces threaten to annihilate mankind! Nerve, cunning and guile are essential in order to conquer in this compelling adventure, guaranteed to leave you with an aching brain and a beating heart. Are you up to the challenge?

Along with an exclusive new interactive digital comic, from ‘Watchmen’ co-creator Dave Gibbons, the game boasts fully animated facial expressions, enhanced graphics throughout, high quality music as well as a context-sensitive hint system, and diary.

    VIRTUAL THEATRE

Designed by Charles Cecil and Tony Warriner The first ever engine that allowed NPCs to wander around independently, and letting them have a life on their own.
NPCs wouldn’t wait around for the protagonist in a static space, they had things to do! This was ground-breaking at the time, and we’re still quite proud of it. More about Virtual Theatre..
Games we developed on Virtual Theatre:

    • Lure Of The Temptress  (1992)
    • Beneath A Steel Sky  (1994)
    • Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars (1996)
    • Broken Sword II: The smoking Mirror (1997)

Broken Sword 2 – the Smoking Mirror: Remastered has been on the App Store & Google Play Store since 2009. While we were focusing on our latest games and projects we haven’t kept up to date with the latest OS versions, and phone aspect ratios. So if the app doesn’t launch on your device anymore, and doesn’t show up for you as a purchase option it’s because we unlisted it on the devices we knew it wouldn’t work properly on. While we can’t promise you an exact date, we want you to know that we’re already looking into allocating the time and finding out what resources it would take to update our mobile games. Thank you for your patience!

    UNDERSTANDING SCUMMVM

The original version of Broken Sword 1: Shadow of the Templars is possible to run on contemporary setups with the help of ScummVM.
ScummVM is a software that allows you to boot older classic graphic point-and-click adventure games, text adventure games, and RPGs by replacing the executable files shipped with the games. This of course works for a lot of older games, not just Lure of The Temptress.ScummVM stands for Script Creation Utility for Maniac Mansion Virtual Machine, and one of their founders is Joost Peters who now works as our Tech-lead at Revolution Software.
If you’ve never used before, don’t worry! It’s very self-explanatory but we’ll still link to some more info:
